In 1935, Skiing New York moved forward with its first method of uphill transportation. People began carving their dreams on the landscape drawing others to enjoy the wonder of skiing downhill.  Becoming known as "ski areas", some survived and many faced numerous challenges and obstacles which eventually led to their demise.
