IRONWOOD RIDGE

LOCATED OFF Oran Delphi Road IN THE TOWN OF POMPEY

Unlike other central New York ski areas, Ironwood was extremely steep with diverse winding trails. Looking from the base lodge, the 500 foot vertical drop was deceiving. There was a T-bar and two mitey mites serving the main skiing area with a rope tow at the summit used to transport visitors across the flats. Snowmaking covered the lower slopes and Mother Nature took care of the rest. This area operated six days a week with night skiing available Wednesday through Saturday.
