With one dime collected
from each admission to the roller skating rink, Cornell University bought
and created this place to ski in 1947. There were two rope tows, one serving
a novice area and ski jump. Skiing on 400 feet of vertical was offered on
weekends, Tuesdays and Thursdays for a buck when weather permitted. This
operation ended in 1959 following the passing of Tar Young. That being said, a Dec. 1961 Ski Area Report states: |
