In this corridor, several areas have come and gone. Many lost the ability to create a "need" for their operations to continue. The private start-ups could not compete with New York State's greater leverage and funding. The existence of WHITEFACE and then GORE  completely turned the tide. Even  MARBLE MTN. , a New York State creation, passed on as Mother Nature attempted to slow down but not stop what was to be.  There were areas that passed for various reasons; however, the presence of New York State  was   

FOREVER WILD in itself.
