Base on the article from a December 1969 Ski Magazine, pp. 171-2 shown below, we believe that this proposed area was in Dutchess County near the CT border about 90 miles north of New York City.
It would appear that patches, such as the one shown below were made, but the Mitey-Mite lift described on the Ski Magazine article was never actually installed. So until more evidence comes in, the NYC Mission Ski Area is in the category of "proposed, but never built, ski area" but not a "lost area".
